Our Visits to Lynsted Community Kitchen Garden
2023 - 24
Term 1: visits (Ducklings class)
Term 4 & 5 weekly visits (Foxes class and Ducklings class)
We have spent time visiting Lynsted Community Kitchen Garden this year.
We have planted seeds and seen them grow - including celery, lettuces
We have tasted different items - including fruits such as strawberries, raspberries, blackcurrants and redcurrants.
2024-25
Term 6 -
Foxes Class are visiting every week
We have sown sweetcorn - and they are starting to grow already - after 3 days!
We have also dug up some potatoes which we were able to take home. We helped to move wood chips to make a new path and watered the plants.
Hedgehogs Class
We have picked our own strawberries which were yummy, planted some leeks, helped to make a path using wood chips - we used the wheelbarrow to move this around, and we have tasted some edible flowers.
Ducklings Class - We learnt how to be safe in the garden, we carried some bricks in the wheelbarrows to keep the netting safe over some new plants, and then used the wheelbarrows to move wood chips to help make a new path. We also picked our own strawberries (they were yummy!) and saw some tomato plants in the polytunnel where it was very hot!
